Ron Winn

Ron was raised on Florida’s central east coast in a small community known as Indialantic. His family moved to Florida from Georgia when he was in first grade in 1957. His mother worked for Lockheed and was transferred to work on their Polaris missile program at Cape Canaveral. Indialantic is located on a barrier island and the waters of the Atlantic were just a few blocks to the east and to the west, thru the woods the Indian River lagoon. Whether fishing, swimming or surfing the water was it. In the late 60’s and early 70’s he worked on a commercial kingfish boat and learned a lot about bait design. It was here he was introduced to polypropylene as a durable colorful material, a product that was ideal for streamers when a few years later he got into fly fishing and tying. He is noted for his knowledge and experience in fly fishing the surf.
Matt Grajewski

Born and raised in Michigan, Matt grew up in a fishing family that spent countless hours on the water. Kevin Arculeo
Kevin’s love for fishing began at an early age while growing up in the state of Florida. His childhood experience led to an interest in fly-fishing about 25 years ago where he engaged in the sport and also worked both full- and part-time during a three-year period at The Fish Hawk in Atlanta, Ga. – the largest privately owned fly fishing shop east of the Mississippi River. It didn’t take long before Kevin started guiding north of Atlanta on Lake Sidney Lanier for striped bass and spotted bass – where he currently takes his clients for an engaging and educational fly-fishing experience. Previously, he also guided on the Chattahoochee River for trout as well as several trout streams in North Georgia. It’s not unusual to see Kevin teaching others how to tie flies and cast, and you can also find him conducting fly-fishing presentations and seminars at trade shows and other organizations. Several of Kevin’s flies and instruction have been published — including a feature article in Saltwater Fly Fishing magazine. Kevin is Professional Fly Designer for Rainy’s Flies and Supplies; his flies are available at local fly shops. Most recently, Kevin became a guide member of the YAMAHA Marine National Fishing Team. Like so many others, tying flies and fly fishing quickly became a passion and at 15 he began working for the local fly shop where he was mentored by some of the best anglers in Ontario. His passion for fly fishing has brought him to pro staff level with R.L. Winston fly rods and Bauer reels. He continues to hone his skills in all aspects of fly fishing and tying and his relaxed style of teaching and guiding make him a sought after instructor for all skill levels. In recent years, Nick has done a lot of travelling in search of trout. He has now spent time on the Eastern shores of Lake Superior searching for Steelhead, the foothills of Southwestern Alberta and interior BC targeting everything that swims, the Madison River in Montana hunting big wild browns, and of course the White River in Arkansas. Above all else, Nick is an absolute big fly nut. Developing and proving new fly concepts on his local waters and beyond has become a total obsession, and there will always be something new in his boxes.

chasing trout up on the Delaware River and stripers in New York Harbor, but has
chased fresh and saltwater fish all over North and South American and the tropics, ranging from steelhead to tarpon to roosterfish. His flies have been featured in all of the major fly fishing magazines, including Fly Fisherman, American Angler, and Fly Tyer, , as well as many foreign publications, and he served as a staff writer for Fly Fishing In Saltwaters for many years. He also penned one of the chapters for Fleye Design, by his close friend and mentor Bob Popovics. Jonny is a regular presence at fly tying shows and fly shops, where he gives demonstrations on both fresh and saltwater patterns. His flies are commercially available through Fulling Mill. When not waiving a fly rod, Jonny is an intellectual property lawyer and professional jazz pianist, who has toured the world with various different bands.
Ben Whalley

Ben’s obsession with fly fishing started at the age of 10 when his father taught him the basics with an old fiberglass fly rod and a box of flies. His early years in South Florida ignited his passion for the ocean and all things fishing. His family moved to Brazil in the early 90’s to help found a ranch for abused and abandoned street children. In between breaking horses and farm activities growing up, he explored the wilderness and waterways as much as he could. This was the perfect environment to foster his passion for the outdoors and love for fishing. It was there that he began tying flies with natural materials to imitate berries and baitfish to fool the local population of Pacú and Traira and, scavenging the ranch for feathers and hair to spin up.
Ben moved to Maine in 2003 where his obsession with wild salmon and striped bass flourished. By 2015 he was guiding part-time for trout and striped bass. Ben’s infatuation with striped bass borders on obsession as he attempts to understand all the ecosystem intricacies through observation, research, and time spent on the water. This all-consuming passion results in iterative development, testing, and ultimately better saltwater flies that are both functional and realistic. The unmatched brilliance of Bob Popovic’s creations naturally caught Ben’s attention early on and has influenced his tying the most. It also sparked a mentorship that continues to heighten Ben’s ability to create salty creations behind the vise.
When not behind the vise, poling the flats in Maine, or sharing his passion of all things fly fishing with his young daughter & wife, Ben’s an Engineer with a Six Sigma Blackbelt, happiest solving complex manufacturing problems at his day job.
Lucas Utrera

Lucas Utrera is a fly tyer born in Argentina, currently residing in Miami, USA. He started fly tying in the mid-90s at the early age of 12. He dabbled in commercial tying for some years, but later dedicated most of his time to tying special flies for collectors and participating in competitions, as well as writing fly tying articles in specialized magazines. Through his Instagram account he tries to educate and inspire other tyers, focusing not only on the intrinsic effectiveness of flies, but also on the creativity and artistic value of them. “After 25 years of tying flies, I have concluded that a fly is a handful of illusions tied together to a hook with two very clear objectives: to catch a fish and to excite a person. Achieving both will give us enough reasons to dedicate the rest of our lives to it.” Lucas is currently a member of the Ahrex, Gulff, Semperfli, Renomed and Swiss CDC Pro Teams.
Alec Dollimount

Growing up in a province full of clear mountain streams and predator ridden prairie lakes, Alberta has a lot to offer the avid fly angler. Alec was first exposed to the sport at the age of 10 after his father handed him a fly rod at a stocked trout pond. In middle school, Alec took a fly fishing option course, teaching him the basics of fishing and fly tying. Alec caught on quickly and hasn’t looked back since. Since then, Alec has been living his passion, heading out to rivers and lakes every chance he gets. Trout and Northern Pike are Alec’s main targets, but he loves to throw a fly at anything that’ll eat. As a high school student, Alec finds himself at the local creek fishing for pike in the evenings as an escape from his school life and a form of relaxation. Living in the small city of Airdrie, about twenty five minutes away from the well known Bow River in Calgary and within a few hours drive to some of our beloved Cutthroat and Bull Trout streams, you can say Alec has many future fly fishing opportunities to learn and grow. Alec takes it upon himself to learn at every opportunity and follows well known fly designers in the industry. Creating realistic insect and baitfish imitations really intrigued him and it has become just as important to Alec as fishing itself. Alec enjoys the challenge of creating life like bugs and takes pride in landing the catch. Spending countless hours at the vise every week has interested him in fly design, something he would like to pursue in the future.
Allen Campbell

Allen’s fly fishing journey started shortly after college and quickly morphed into a lifelong passion. He cut his teeth fly fishing the cold waters of Michigan where he grew up. After a brief break from fly fishing and fly tying during his time as a Paratrooper in the United States Army, he has been chasing fish all over the country. Allen will chase any fish with a fly rod, but his passion lies with freshwater species like Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, and trout. Shortly after picking up a rod, he began tying flies in an effort to immerse himself in the sport when not on the water. After Allen caught his first fish on a streamer, he never looked back and spends most of his time imitating baitfish and poppers. Allen takes his inspiration from anglers of all kinds and looks up to many of the well known tiers out there. For Allen, tying flies is his creative outlet where he can use his hands and tools. Allen has a passion for teaching and helping others find their love for fly fishing. Recently, he has started his own guiding service, Campbell Outfitters, on his home waters in West Michigan where he can share his passion with others. Allen is a lifelong learner and is excited to continue his journey in fly tying and fly fishing. The next big fish is right around the bend!
Phil Iwane

Phil has been tying flies for decades and truly love to tie. Initially this passion came from the joy of catching a fish on a fly that was tied by him. As we know, this stokes the fire and gets us more passionate about tying flies. After he moved from this stage of fly tying, he began tying at fly shops and fly-fishing shows. In his life, Phil has coached Little League Baseball, High School Wrestling and Roller Hockey. Being part of his history, it was only natural for him to share his fly-tying knowledge with other fly tiers. If you don’t love to teach, why tie at fly shops and fly-fishing shows? The teaching of fly tying began and is going stronger than ever. He says there is nothing more satisfying than sharing a technique or a fly with a person with a like passion, be it a beginner or an avid tier. Phil actively supports Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, giving back to Veterans who gave so much for the freedom we enjoy. He also spends additional time with children who are interested in tying, knowing what fly tying and fly fishing can do for a person. It gets a young person away from video games and tv and into the outdoors and provides an activity a family can do together. Phil believes being in the outdoors and communing with nature, keeps you young and engaged in life. Renzetti and Phil are a perfect match, as Renzetti is an active part of the fly tying and fly-fishing community and supports many of the non-profit organizations. Over the years, Phil Iwane has immersed himself into the fly tying and the fly-fishing world. He is an Umpqua Signature Fly Designer and his Iwan-e-Dun Extended Body Mayfly, Phil’s No Mercy Midge and Last Gasp Ant are the flies that he has with them. He is a Pro Team Member for Orvis, Pro Team Member of Abel, Ross Reels and Airflow, Pro Team Member for Nature’s Spirit, Pro Team Member with Whiting Farms Genetic Fly Tying Feathers, Pro Team for Solarez UV Resins, Pro Team Member for The Finest Fly Tying Benches of Colorado, and Pro Team Member for Dr. Slick and Pro Member of Riversmith River Quivers. Mack Bryson

My passion for fly fishing and tying flies began over 25 years ago in the basement of a dear friend’s house in Martinsville, VA. From that point on pursuing bass, bluegill, and trout in the local lakes and rivers consumed most of my free time. The pond on my family’s farm became our “playground” and testing facility for new creations from the vise. I would often drive to Roanoke, VA to spend time with Blane Chocklett and the folks at Blue Ridge Fly Fishers always hoping to glean some wisdom from those guys to further my fly tying. I’ve made many friends and been fortunate enough to fish some fantastic waters over the last 25 years. I enjoy sharing the art of fly tying with new tiers through local tying nights, workshops at fly shops and the Fly Fishing Shows.
Eric Leininger

For the last nine years, Eric has operated as the Head Guide and Fly Tying Materials Manager at Northwest Fly Fishing Outfitters in Portland, Oregon. He spent nine years guiding Alaska and this will be my 14th year guiding full time in Oregon. He specializes in Two Handed casting instruction and chasing Steelhead. Eric also spent his spring and summer targeting smallmouth, tiger musky, and most popular, sight fishing for Carp on the flats of the Columbia River. After all these years one of his favorite things to still do is tie and design different types of flies. The innovations over the last five years have really expanded the industry into a whole new level. Eric says he couldn’t be happier being brought on to a team with such advanced tiers, and a company that’s leading the way in creativity and forward thinking in fly design.
Kisha Atkin

Kisha Atkin has been an angler her entire life. Although she didn’t learn to fly fish and tie flies until she was 38, to say that she has made up for lost time since then is an understatement. Her passion and deep love for the sport and all that it entails is remarkable. She previously spent many years working for the U.S. Forest Service as a wildland firefighter and dispatcher which took her to many wild, beautiful places in the west and only enhanced her love for the outdoors. She currently helps operate her family business with her husband and two boys who all share the same passion for fly fishing and tying. They spend every minute of their free time on the road chasing fish together. Kisha loves to teach and attends many fly fishing events throughout the year and also offers various local fly shop demonstrations. Kisha is an Umpqua Feather Merchants signature designer, Renzetti Ambassador, pro team member for Semperfli Fly Tying Materials, Solarez, Renomed scissors and a collaborator with Ahrex hooks. She is passionate about fly tying and a role model and an inspiration to many. Qualities we look for in our Ambassadors.
Pat Kelly

Pat’s passion for fishing started a very young age. Having grown up in Ohio he cut his teeth on anything and everything that would eat a fly. As kid he was fortunate enough to spend a lot of time saltwater fishing on both the east and west coast of Florida quickly becoming addicted to all things saltwater. By the time he graduated high school he knew that fishing was all he ever wanted to do. Since then he has made his living as a guide, fly tyer, instructor and travel host for Mad River Outfitters. While he targets many different species, it is the predatory fish that hold a special place in his heart. Musky, Smallmouth Bass, Peacock Bass and LA Redfish are his favorites. His fly tying has been influenced by so many great tyers most notably Bob Popovics, Blane Chocklett, and Larry Dahlberg.
